The ASICS Mammoth Lakes Track Club was featured in a Runners World article about Lauren Kleppin.
Lauren Kleppin, who finished second behind Serena Burla at the USA Half Marathon in January, joined the ASICS Mammoth Track Club last fall to live and train at altitude.
She won the Carlsbad Marathon in January 2013 in 2:42.17 and finished third with a sub–2:37 U.S. Olympic Trials “A” standard in Los Angeles. Her finish time was 2 hours 28 minutes 48 seconds.
ASICS Mammoth Track Club team members live and train at 8000 feet. In 2004, two team members, Meb Keflezighi and Deena Kastor, earned medals in the Olympics. The club also became a home to marathoners Ryan Hall and Amy Hastings and a middle-distance track crew including Morgan Uceny and Anna Pierce.
