Vacation & Travel, one of Australia’s leading luxury travel publications ran a story on Mammoth Lakes, and the history of Dave McCoy’s development of Mammoth Mountain. This story came out in the July/Aug/Sept edition of Vacations and Travel, which has a circulation of 33,000. The ad value was $33,400 (AUD) and the PR value was estimates at $100,400 (AUD), as estimated by Gate 7 (MLT agency in Australia.)
Mammoth Lakes Tourism was one of the destination sponsors of the 2015 Warren Miller Film Tour in Australian and New Zealand. With showing in over 5o cities, towns, and venues, the “No Turning Back” 2015 Warren Miller screenings broke all records for attendance.
Mammoth Lakes Tourism prepared a 20 second promo video that played before each screening, and destination slides that rotated before the screenings and at intermissions.
MLT, the Westin, and MMSA concluded their 2015 Australian Sales Mission this last May. The highly successful sales Mission included Sales Training and Agent trainings with all the leading travel trade wholesalers in market, meeting with key media reps, and attending consumer shows in the important markets of Melbourne and Sydney.
The goal was to increase visitation for the winter of 2015/16 from this key international market.
MLT, The Westin, and MMSA hosted a Visit California International Media FAM in January 2014. Travel writers and bloggers from around the world had a chance to enjoy the mountain, the community, and the Mammoth Lakes lifestyle.

Mammoth Lakes Tourism, the Westin, and MMSA hosted a group of travel agents from Australia and New Zealand March 24-26, 2015. The travel agents had won the coveted positions on the FAM by being the leading sellers of ski vacations / California holidays within their prospective companies. The FAM’s itinerary had them staying at the Westin and skiing / experiencing world famous Mammoth Mountain. MLT also hosted them to wonderful meals at local restaurants, and a private Craft Beer 101 tasting at Mammoth Brewing Co. The goal was to familiarize the agents with Mammoth Lakes and have them personally experience the things that set the destination above its competitors. Increased visitation from this key market is the long term benefit.
MLT landed this space in a e-newsletter with Ski and Snowboard with Kids. This publication is the largest family publication in Australia. This e-newsletter has a subscription list of 100k.
This good life video series was a co-op between MMSA, MLT, and Brand USA to promote the winter experience to international markets. It was dubbed into second languages to authenticate the interactive experience. The English version was directed towards the Australian, New Zealand, and UK markets.

Flight Centre (who own Escape Travel) are printing 60,000 copies and it has a shelf life of 12 months – that’s one box per store (they currently have approx.160 stores). 1000 copies will be available across the national Discover America expos as well but this number could increase if it’s in demand.
